This summer Hull will be celebrating the 375th anniversary of the Town’s founding in 1644.  To help celebrate this momentous event, Hull Artists is co-sponsoring, with the Hull 375 Committee, a contest for Hull residents to design the official “Hull 375” t-shirt.

All interested residents of Hull can submit an original design that celebrates the past, present or future of Hull while celebrating the town’s 375th anniversary.  All entries should include the name of the town and the numbers 375.  The winning design will adorn the back of the official Hull 375 t-shirt and the artist will be awarded a $100 cash prize courtesy of Hull Artists.  This contest is open to all Hull residents regardless of age or prior artistic experience.  Imagine hundreds of people wearing t-shirts with your design printed on the back.

You do not need any prior artistic experience to enter. Each applicant can submit up to three original designs using no more than four colors.  Contestants younger than eighteen will need their parent or guardian to sign their application as well.  There is no need for an artist’s statement or biography.  The winning design will be the sole property of Hull Artists for one year following he announcement of the winner, after that full rights will revert to the artist.

All entries should be made electronically in jpg format and emailed to, along with the entry form.  Submissions are due no later than April 30th.  The winner will be notified on or about May 24, 2019.

There will be two levels of judging. A panel selected by Hull Artists will be the first round of judging.  Three to five finalists will be chosen for the final judging by a committee of members of Hull Artists and members of the Hull 375 Committee.

There will be a reveal party at Gallery Nantasket, 121 Nantasket Avenue on Friday evening, June 7th for the winning design and all finalists.  T-shirts will be available at that time for presale.
