Barbara Chaisson

Barbara Chaisson is an award winning mixed media painter with an upbeat sense of color and design. She enjoys painting all things coastal New England -especially the sailing activity around the Boston Harbor Islands. After capturing a scene plein air she returns to the studio to add the line and collage work.

She received her formal training at Massachusetts College of Art & Design, earning a B.F.A. degree in Design. She then spent many years as an Art Director & Designer in Boston’s advertising industry. Her work won awards for clients including AT&T, American Express, Bose, Dunkin Brands, Gillette, IBM & McDonalds.

Her art direction and design background is evident throughout her paintings.
Her work is a balance of bold color harmonies paired with strong compositions.

Through Hull Artists my work has been shown at the Gallery Nantasket and in solo and group shows at Town venues and various events. As an active member of Hull Artists I enjoy the camaraderie and mutual support of fellow artists in a wide variety of media and supporting the local Arts through the organization’s activities.
