As early as I can remember I have been fascinated by nature. Whether walking in the woods admiring the beauty of towering Pine trees or simply hearing waves crashing against a shoreline, I am in awe.
My father, an avid lover of nature, and my mother a beach worshiper passed these appreciations along to me. Growing up on Long Island New York, many of my summer days were spent boating on Long Island Sound, swimming at the beach, and playing in tidal pools. Family vacations consisted of camping, fishing, and hiking through-out New York State, and New England.
At about age 10, I started spending countless hours in my bedroom drawing. My grandparents took notice and purchased painting lessons for me.
As a Junior in High School my art teacher encouraged me to enter a New York State student art contest. I took her advice, created a piece for the competition, and won. This gave me the confidence to apply to a college art program and continue my journey as an artist.
I studied drawing, painting, and printmaking mentoring under Rick Mikkelson, and Diane Fine, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree at SUNY Plattsburgh, Plattsburgh, New York 92’. After graduation I moved to Boston Massachusetts where I settled into the local art scene, exhibiting, and selling my artwork.
In 2004, I took a hiatus from showing my artwork publicly, following the birth of my twin sons.
I re-emerged, in the Spring of 2019 exhibiting my Encaustic mixed media abstract landscape paintings.
I currently reside, in the beautiful coastal town of Hull, Massachusetts, and my paintings are shown regularly at Gallery Nantasket, Hull, MA.
I am a member of IEA, International Encaustic Artists
Hull Artists, Hull, MA
South Shore Art Center, Cohasset, MA
North River Arts Society, Marshfield, MA
My artwork is held in private collections through-out New York, and New England.
