Sandie Baler-Segal

As a self-confessed bead freak, designing and creating bold, interesting, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry is my passion.

Long ago and not so far away, I began “repurposing” items of jewelry into new conceptions that were more aesthetically pleasing, doing what I could with rudimentary tools.  After enrolling in a few classes, I discovered real tools as well as basic techniques and I was off and running.  Much of what I do today is self-taught and discovering ways to work a design is always a joy.

My designs begin in my mind, often after coming across an unusual focal piece or a strand of beautiful beads.  I work with a variety of gemstones, hand-crafted glass, pearls, crystals, lampwork beads (which are made individually over a flame), and more.  All of my necklace creations include a correlating pair of earrings.

I often tell my customers that “I guarantee compliments”, and they will later tell me how true that is.

See my work at the Gallery Nantasket and during Open Studios in Hull.

Commissioned designs are always welcome.
