Sandra Weeks

I grew up in the seaport town of Fairhaven, MA and it was my high school art teacher, Mrs. Mandell, who forged my career in art. At Mass Art I became intrigued with 3 dimensional design and thus became one of the first female students to graduate with a BFA in Industrial Design. My first job was with an architectural and engineering firm in Boston where I learned construction drafting. This knowledge led me into a working career of corporate interior space planning and project management.

My husband Bill and I are long time residents of Hull. It wasn’t till I retired several years ago that I went back to an old love of drawing and so I sign up for drawings classes with Pat LeLiberte. She inspired me to start drawing with colored pencils. It has become my passion. I love the way colored pencils blend together to create beautiful effects and allow for exacting details in my floral and animal drawings. I now do commissioned pet portrait drawings. The challenge in drawing animals is to capture all the finite details of their fur, coloration, and the soul in their eyes.

For commissioned work my rates are very reasonable. Just send me a favorite photo of your pet and I will create a lasting image.
